Gary Wallis, organiser of the wonderful Henley Decor Fair, known for TV's Restoration Workshop, and of course an established antiques dealer in his own right has been in touch to let us know about the upcoming The Essence of English Country Residences auction with Wellers Auctions on Wed 10th April.
The auction is the result of having been invited to dispose of some really amazing pieces as a result of having been given access to the lofts and outbuildings of several major country estates. What makes this sale so appealing is that it is primarily fresh to market stock at very realistic price guidelines.
The auction features a staggering 675 pieces. Highlights include a collection of Murano glass chandeliers formerly from a high end jewellery consescian, a Military Cross medal group to a Coldstream Guards Officer WW1, a London made Military campaign chest, numerous trunks and cases, taxidermy, very large Italian Chandeliers, Garden statutory and benches, bronze sculpture and silver ware, nearly 100 oil paintings and portraits, uniforms and Militaria, vintage motorcycles, numerous mirrors and decorative furniture.
Gary writes:-
"The Essence of English Country Residences is a really unique and rare opportunity for dealers and public alike to be able to get their hands on pieces fresh to the market. Much much more a genuine curated sale for the decorator or collector and a wonderful opportunity to buy that one off item for your home or garden, with everything priced to go" |
